This is all I know. My 2 daughters are native American. Their great grandparents are William Brock and Mildred Cole from Harlan Kentucky. Their grandmother, Ora Brock told me she is a Cherokee mountain woman. The father of my children denies having native ancestry, however his mother claims to have been a registered Cherokee member and was very proud of her heritage. Unfortunately because of the violent nature of my childrens father I was never very close to his family or able to learn much else about it. His mother claimed to be part of the Cherokee in the appalachian mountains in harlan kentucky area which never left the area. I want to be able to teach my two daughters about their history and native American identity because I hate the thought of them never being able to known their identity and their father plans to deny their identity as first nations peoples ans claims to be English decent only and has no intention of teaching them their native American identity. I need help with this so I can do my best to reconnect my daughters with their native American culture.
