I’ve recently found my grandmother’s grave, and on her grave it has the Seal of Cherokee Nation. However, I cannot find any info regarding her Cherokee lineage.
Her name is Bessie Carter b. 07/29/1891 in Springfield Mo. She married Ephram T. Martin, and from that union my grandmother Emily Martin was born. My great grandmother died giving birth to twins 08/12/1923 in Cushing Okla. Any help on where to go from here would be immensely appreciated. Thanks, E.McDowell
