I am trying to discover how my ancestry tracks back to the Eastern Band of Cherokee. My name is Richard Shinaman. My parents were Debra and Craig Shinaman. My grandparents were Osler and Jeanette Lankford and my great grandfather was Ernest Brown. They lived in Wilkes County, North Carolina. I was always taught that I was related to a Johnson branch of the Eastern Band of Cherokee. Can anyone help with this?
