I have heard for a long time that I had Cherokee heritage and until recently I had no way to even attempt to confirm if I did.
According to my research I am related to April owl Gallion who may have disappeared during the trail of tears; her child is supposed to be Delanas Gallion born 1778 (she married John Sexton), then their child is supposed to be William Morton Sexton, who had Stephen A Sexton, who had Isabella Frances sexton, who had Trudy jones ( my great grandmother). This is according to familysearch.com , my mother and I would love to find out what that means for us, if these records are accurate and if we would have any official Cherokee ties, thank you for any help.
