Searching for ancestors with the last name flood

October 10, 2016 by tashaann12 Leave a Comment

My grandfather never really got to know the history of his ancestors on his dad’s side other than what my great grandma was able to tell him he was born in Golden Pond, Kentucky. His father’s name was Walter Waddington Flood he was married to Annie Westbrooks and passed away in 1938. They had 6 kids and that the ancestors were involved in the Trail of Tears movement. They moved from Virginia, I think but I know they settled in western part of Kentucky. (Golden Pond) last of my grandfathers realitives are still there.
My grandpa has passed and some of the family would like to know some of the history. Since we only know so little. At one time I was told that the family had Cherokee/Black Foot in the ancestry as well. It would be great to know. I have tried on so many attempts before he passed and was not able to get very far. I wish I knew more but I only know what my great grandfathers name is.
