Raper Family

April 6, 2015 by Sheila 1 Comment

Searching for any related Eastern Band Cherokee info for my father, Harvey B Raper b.1910-2005. A birth certificate was never filed, born in Ducktown, Polk, TN – 07-23-1910. His father (Henry C Raper 1868-1915 w. Pearl Dean b. 1891-1966) and siblings (Claude H Raper b.1903-1984; Maude L Raper b. 1905-1994; Wayne J Raper b. 1907-1974) are registered in Guion Miller 1909 Roll Application 18592, also Chapman Roll #1431 and Hester Roll #1539
The only records I have found for my father are on US Census and Army military records.
Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to add yourself to the Cherokee Tribe? You seem to have the roll numbers to your relatives. You only have to trace yourself to the latest one on the roll by birth and/or death certificates. The ones with the raised state seals on them are the only ones they accept. His death certificate should have his parents names on it for you to trace the line.
