Seeking Cherokee family lineage for Petty, Prater, French. Jeptha Prater 1837-1904 laid to rest in Atoka OK. John Petty 1841-1914. My mother’s mother Maggie Love Petty-Prater, my mother Floyella Prater-Moore. We believe we are related to Richard Petty also. Any info would be very helpful!

My name Is Lance . My Great Grandmothers name Is Ada Lisenba . I was told she was full Cherokee . On her death cert. it says her Mothers name was Mandy Petty and father is only listed as Harrison. Do you have any information on these people ? If so please Let me know . lance.ingersoll@gmail.com
I and a sizable number of Petty family members currently live in and around the Baltimore MD region, and we too were told we were related to Richard Petty. I wish I could find my great grandmother’s maiden name. Apparently she was very dark skinned and had bull blooded Indian characteristics; Hair, eyes, etc.
My Family’s last name is Petty, Tennessee . Grandfather’s name was John William Petty, His mother was full blooded Cherokee. Still looking for information.

The Mary burchfield I mentioned was supposedly taken in an Indian raid….sally young or young bird associated with Robert burchfield and meshack burchfield…..
