Minnie Black Peterson was 100% Cherokee. She was born in 1983 in Yell County, Arkansas to Franklin Eugene Black and Rosetta “Rosie’ Garner. Eugene Black was the son to John and Susan Black.
I am told the Courthouse does not have her birth certificate however I do have her death certificate. I am searching for additional information on Grandma Minnie and should ANYONE have a picture of her, or her relatives, I would be eternally grateful Thank you.

You’ve got Minnie’s lineage traced back correctly to parents and paternal grandparents. So, it is surprising that you make the statement that Minnie Black was 100% Cherokee. There is no support for that claim. These families were from South Carolina. They were never connected with Cherokee people in their own lifetimes, and they were listed as White in records. They were part of standard southern White society. Franklin moved from SC to Yell Co. AR in the 1880s. Susan moved with here parents (also from SC) in the 1870s. Susan was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Garner and Lucinda Page.

Actually, while Minnie was not 100% Cherokee, jsmith I believe when you wrote, “SUSAN was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Garner and Lucinda Page.” (emphasis mine) you actually meant “ROSETTA was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Garner and Lucinda Page.” (Susan was not a Garner and did not move to Arkansas).
