I’ve been told that my 3x great grandmother was 1/2 Cherokee. I have researched and found her name to be Mahala Martin. I found this when researching my geneology and finding that she had a son, Ashley A. Martin, born 11/1/1884 in Beaufort Co, North Carolina and died on 11/3/1914 in Martin County, North Carolina. I can not find any other information on her other than her name on Ashley’s marriage record. I was told that her mother was full blooded Cherokee. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
