Looking for MacArthur Henry Thomas

Hi All,
I’m looking for my grandfather, MacArthur Henry Thomas or Henry MacArthur Thomas. Oral history has him as Cherokee Indian and a blacksmith. According to my father he was killed when my dad was about 6 years old. Roughly around 1946-1947. There is a Mac Thomas that shows
Up on one of the rolls but I haven’t investigated further.
He was married to Louise B. Holloway and had 2 sons. Douglas MacArthur Thomas and Carey Thomas.
