Looking for Cherokee roots

September 5, 2016 by Steve33904 1 Comment

My great grandmother was Cherokee Indian. Her marked name was Roark and she lived in Redbird, Kentucky before WWll. She went by the name Polly. Her son and daughter’s names were Bidge(Abidga) and Birdie Roark.

There is not enough info to get into this query and do real research. For example, there are no dates, no spouse given for Polly, and the children do not show up in any quick keyword search in all major search engines and genealogy databases. Also, there are no results for a refined search of Whitley County, Kentucky in the 1940 Census. You’ll probably need to narrow down the children a bit more, or give dates and a spouses name.
