Lambert – North Carolina

I’m looking for any information on behalf of my wife who has Cherokee blood on both her Father and Mothers side. More so on her fathers. Any information on what tribe, area, location or history on the Lambert name would be amazing.

Here is the furthest we’ve been able to track so far:

Hugh Noland Lambert was born on January 15, 1812, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. He married Nancy Jane Raper on March 24, 1842. They had 20 children in 24 years. He died on February 14, 1895, in Cherokee, North Carolina, having lived a long life of 83 years.
