Have an ancestor we believe is Cherokee, but she was born around 1805 from what we know. There are no birth records we can find and no marriage records that might give us more information.

She was born in South Carolina supposedly, her name is Joyce (no last name known of)
She later moved to Georgia with her husband and we believe she may have avoided the Trail of Tears because of this.

Have no idea where to look.
