John Norris/Elizabeth Keyes

December 10, 2014 by wildfiremaiden 1 Comment

I’ve been trying to find my mother side with the Cherokee descent. My Grandfather is the Norris side and Keyes is my grandmother side. I know a few surnames I do know my grandparents married in the area of Cumberland County, Tennessee. they lived in Crossville, Tennessee. John and Elizabeth was divorced when my mother was young, my mother went to live with my grandmother sister-Deliah.? (not sure spelled right) Some where in the line there is a Caroline Cobble. John’s Norris father name was Abner Norris.

An Abner Norris from Cumberland County was my great-grandfather. He was married to Mary Ellen Barnwell, and their children were Della (pronounced Delli) , Amanda (Mandie) , Raymond, Violet (I think), Nora (Nori) and Mattie. Not sure if this helps, since it sounds like you’re needing to go back further. I’m interested in family history, so feel free to connect if you’d like.
