My Grandmother was born Effie Lee Elliott, but was taken from her family. her so-called adoptive family re-named her Imogene “Jackie” Lower. From what we have been able to determine thus far is that her Mother was Cherokee, Chickasaw European and her father was Lakota and Cherokee. These crosses came due to reassignment of our people. Because my Grandmother did not have a birth certificate it has been very difficult to locate information. I have pictures of my great Uncles as Indian Guides (location unknown). Any help would be appreciated. My ancestry means very much to me and I would love to know where my ancestry began, because it will never end.
