Green

April 7, 2015 by tamylou0830 2 Comments

Doing some research and if I am correct, my 6x great grandfather is Chief Gardner Young Wolf Green, Chief of the Eastern Cherokee, from Georgia. My parents and grandparents lived in Arkansas and Oklahoma. Does anyone have any information? Also, why would Cherokee have English surnames?

Hi, I’m glad you have an interest in this. I am reading a book about Sam Houston, a great friend of the Cherokee. Many early pioneers married the original people’s of this land. Good luck in your search!

I just found out that Chief Gardner Young Wolf Green is my 6th Great Grandfather, he was married to Rachel Lucy Allnne Talitusa Toalson (No parental info). His father John Running Fox Green and Mother Running Spring Shawano.
