hello,
my great grandmother × 4 was the lovely Sally Yellowcloud. I just traced back 5 generations. My grandfather Andrew Bryson is mentioned quite a bit but I am struggling when finding more history on my grandmother.
It seems she left my grandfather after bearing my moms dad who is named James Lyman Fowler. And Sally ventures into deep Cherokee territory and nothing is mentioned of her again. It seems Andrew only lived a short time of 24 years which I thought was strange. please any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Ashley

I am interested in this thread. I found a story that Andrew Bryson reported a murder to Cherokee Agent Return Meigs after a white man murdered a young Indian Male in his fathers arms. The father was Yellow Bear and was awarded $50 to compensate for the murder when the white man was released from jail. At that time, it was not illegal to murder an Indian. I’ve wondered if Sally Yellow Cloud was Yellow Bears daughter. Andrew Bryson and Yellow Bear had property near to each other in NC. I’ve also wondered if the murdered boy might have been a brother to my ancestor Alsay Smith.
andrew bryson sr married sally, he was my 5th grandfather, but andrew had two wives, i am trying to find out if andrew bryson JR was the son of sally or agnes niall.
Andrew Jefferson Bryson was my 3rd great-grandfather and have been working on the Bryson family tree for years. It’s true he did have two wives — Sally Yellow Cloud and Maria Naill. Andrew Jr’s mother was Sally, not Maria. Andrew Sr and Maria only had one child (from what I was able to verify).
Andrew Sr and Sally had a total of 6 children, 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was my father’s great-grandfather. My father was Matrone Bryson.
I know this is late but I hope this helps a little.

Andrew Bryson Sr was my 3rd great-grandfather, which makes us related. If you don’t mind I would love to connect with you to share family information.
