Emma Loyd

November 5, 2014 by lfsbass Leave a Comment

I am searching for confirmation that my Grandmother, EMMA LOYD Nave (b. November 7, 1894 – d. August 18,1931) was a full blood Cherokee. She is buried in the Bernie Memorial Cemetery in Bernie, MO. (Marker stone confirmed by EMMA’s daughter, my Mother, Delores Jean Nave Stigers). EMMA’s other daughter is Wilma Nave Keller. EMMA may have had 2 sisters – MINNIE and MATTIE. EMMA married Francis Nave possibly while living in Arkansas. EMMA spent some of her life in a family-run Boarding House in Zalma, MO. She also lived in Bernie, MO and possibly in Dexter, MO. My mother remembers EMMA as full-blood Cherokee but we need assistance proving or disproving that. I would appreciate any assistance or information.
