All Things Cherokee is an online resource for Cherokee genealogy information, history, culture, and art.
I have 73 Nancy Hensleys in my family tree. If you can give me a little more info. They have birth dates from 1773 to 1960.
I’d like to help if I can.
There are many rumors about Hensley women who married men with or of Cherokee heritage.
Best Regards,
Frank “Franco” Hensley
Thank you. Nancy Hensley b. 2/18/1885 Harlan ky. She married John Cole. Her mother and father were Arminta “Minnie” and Calvin Hensley who had a water mill in Martin’s fork in Harlan ky
Hi, my name is Jenna. My grandfather is John Parker, His mother was Mary Livine Cole and his grandmother was Nancy Hensley-Cole and John Cole. Do any of those names sound familiar? If so, there is Cherokee in the blood. Absolutely. I am 1/16 Cherokee. My grandfather, J.b. is 1/4. June would have been my grandfather’s Aunt I believe.
Thanks. I cannot find the connection. My paternal great grandmother was Nancy Hensley who was born 2/18/1885 in Harlan Ky (Martin’s Fork) She married john Cole. Can you tell me the bloodline story. I can’t find the definite proof. There was a rumor that Nancy was adopted by Calvin and arminta “Minnie” Hensley. Have you heard that
