Searching for descendants of Sarah FIELDS SMITH, FB Cherokee (m) to Carthy Fletcher Smith (1/2 Cherokee). Known Roll #s started in #600s. Cynthia/Cinthia listed on 1870 Census in/near Cayuga Springs, Ala. Possible Roll # is 635

    This is a little confusing. Are you looking for a Sarah Fields who marred a Carthy Fletcher Smith? Where does Cynthia come in? A daughter? Your names listed as “possible” are also a bit unclear.

    It is usually more effective to move up a tree, and post a query of last known ancestors and include more detail, especially with Smith surname genealogy. And then researchers can provide you with documents, records, or sources confirming parentage and family connections. It is harder to posit or theorize a connection to a couple and then ask, “who are their descendants?” It is not as good for a starting place, in other words.

    Also, what roll are you referring to here? The 600 range on Dawes doesn’t match up to anyone with the names you’ve listed here.. There was a Sarah E. Smith, number 678 on Guion Miller Roll, but she was the daughter of Lewis Rolston (she was 1/16 Cherokee).
