Della’s KY roots appear to be pretty deep. Here is a few generations back and some sources. It isn’t connecting to any apparent Indian ancestors, but perhaps it will help in building your tree and getting you on the right track.

    Silvester’s Parents:

    John Henry Carter (1855 – 1919)
    Permelia Ellen Gossett (1857 – 1929)

    Silvester’s Grandparents:

Hugh Carter (1830 – 1862)*Died in the Civil War (Confederate).
    Elizabeth H Garner (1838 – 1906)

    William Brent Gossett (1816 – 1870)

Martha Jane Lester (1820 – 1899) d/o Vincent Lester Jr., who was son of Vincent Sr. who received early KY land grants.

    Mary Katherine’s Parents:

    Perry Thomas Sweet (1846 – 1928) KY/VA/VA or KY/KY/KY
    Patsy J Clark (1858 – ?) KY/KY/KY

    Mary Katherine’s Grandparents:

    James Owen Sweet (1791 – 1875)
    Mary Jane Sparks (1813 – 1876)

    UNK Clark

    Possible Sources/Records for these lineages:

COURT-LAND-CHILDREN: Indenture of bargain sale & conveyance, Deed Book 19, p

….. conveyed to the said Abel W. Baker a certain tract of parcel of land
situate … on the waters of Fishing Creek … 26 day of April 1860. Note:
This appears to be the land that was Patented to Abel W. Baker & Jehew Baker.
LAND-CHILDREN: Deed of sale; 1859; Abel W. Baker et al to Thomas Marsee, dtd
29 Sept 1859; ; Co Clerk, Pulaski Co KY. A deed of sale names Abel W. Baker,
Thomas Baker, Katy “Luster” late Katy Baker, & Vincent “Luster,” heirs and
legal representatives of Jahew Baker deceased. For the sum of $150 they sold
to Thomas Marsee 40 acres on the west bank of Fishing Creek adjoining Turpin’s
    Military line.

Moved to Pulaski Co between 1800-1810.I desend from his youngest son Jesse Lester born abt 1804. My family donated a booklet “Lester Family of Pulaski County KY” to the Pulaski County Genealogical Sociaty a couple years ago.
