Birdsong Family

November 11, 2014 by jenibird Leave a Comment

I’m looking for information on the Birdsong family near Trigg County, Kentucky. Specifically, I’m looking for information about my great, great grandmother who was apparently a full – blooded Cherokee Indian. I don’t have much info except that some time in the early 1900s-1920s she married a man in Cadiz, Ky who was half white, and apparently she was isolated from other Cherokee people after that. My great grandparents (surname “Jones”) basically hid her away as they passed as white.  I don’t know why.

I don’t even know where to start looking. No one but my grandmother will even talk about it with me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
