    Amatoya Rainmaker “Trader Thomas Carpenter” I – b.1640 Old Chota, TN – 1730 Cherokee, TN was born to an Englishman, Thomas Pasmere Carpenter – b.1607 Plymouth, Devon, England-1675 Cherokee, TN, and Pride Cornstalk “Elizabeth,” a Shawnee maiden – b. 1615 Shawnee, VA – 1679 Cherokee, TN. Amatoya eventually became the Chief of the Eastern Band Cherokee Nation.
