I am researching our family history. I was told that we were part Cherokee. Looking for some validity to this. Apparently, my now deceased grandmother and her daughter use to receive payment from the tribe. My grandmother’s maiden name is Mable Blair, her mother’s name was Mattie Blair or Henderson and now I am hearing
Nancy and Elizabeth Fleetwood. Trying to find info on them. birth dates ect. Nancy Fleetwood passed away Oct. 12, 1936 and Elizabeth fleetwoods married name is Lamberson. I believe they were from Missouri.
Im doing a genealogy on my family and was told that my great great great grandma is Clementine Rice which is said to be a cherokee chiefs daughter she had a daughter Effie Jean Rice. Said to be in missouri but not for sure might be Oklahoma. Need any help you can.
It is my understanding that the name Whitted is a spinoff of Whitehead. Whitehead is allegedly apart of an Indian tribe. David Samuel Whitted claimed to be a descendant of the tribe. Can anyone give me some more information?
I only know my (great?) Grandfather’s name, Charles Rodney Lovett. My sister believes he passed away around April 2004.
