My granddaddy was a Polk, who was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina and it has been passed down information that he was Cherokee, but I’m kind of stuck when it comes to his side, if anyone knows anything on the Polks in Rockhill please let me know, his mother was a Ferguson, his wife (my memaw) she was also said to have Cherokee on her dads side and her maiden name was Price.
