John William Watkins

January 28, 2017 by jk_mcaffrey 1 Comment

John William Watkins is my grandfather on my mother’s side. He was born in 11/19/1900 in Tennessee and died on 5/12/1978 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. He was married to Allyn Chrstine Mains who was born on 5/25/1900 and died on 5/22/1989 in Blanch, Oklahoma.

My great uncle swears that we have Cherokee Blood, but hasn’t been able to prove it. I am already a citizen of the Cherokee Nation thru my father, but my mother wants to know on her side as well.

If you do a DNA test for ethnicity it will tell you the quantum. Also, you can research all the rolls if you have the names ,etc. of your mother’s people.
