Gaskins, Jack

March 20, 2022 by tinadollar Leave a Comment

Jack Gaskins is my biological father. I was born 1960. I have a picture of him and my mother at the time they were together. My mother Nellie England married my step dad and listed Ed Dollar as my father and that I was white, one month after I was born. Jack was in the Navy or Marines docked in Mayport naval jacksonville fl in summer of 1959. Supposedly he came to our home when I was very young with another man and performed a ceremony in full native american dress. I don’t remember this. My step father used to say “that damn Indian is not your father “. The 60’s was still a bad time for severe racism. I have been trying to find him through DNA and genealogy. I am sure he has passed away as I just turned 62. I don’t want anything from anyone. I Just to find out who I really am for my son and I. I was raised in south florida, where he could possibly have been from. Gaskins is a very popular last name so research is difficult. DNA is on myheritage, GEDMatch and ancestry. Uploading to 23andme also.
