Query: Can anyone tell me where an old Cherokee village known as "PINE LOG" was located. It would have been near Western NC and Eastern Tennessee area. "PINE LOG" is listed on Cherokee treaties of 1785 and 1795 as where one of the Cherokee Chiefs who put his mark on the two treaties, his name was spelled Cheseeotetona on one and Chesquotteleneh the other. And his name has also been seen several times spelled Cheesquire/Cheesqiree. All these spelling mean his name in English was "Yellow Bird". I would be most grateful for any help regarding where "PINE LOG" was located and I would be interested in any information related to the above mentioned Cherokee Chief.

Query: A distant Osbrn ancestor (of English origin) was kidnapped by the Susquehanock Indians Tribe in Baltimore Co., MD at about age 10. The date of the kidnapping varies but he was traded to the Cherokee and was raised, married, and became a "Chief". There are two facts that I have (1) Chief Osborn did sit at a treaty of 1744 in Lancaster, PA in the Houdensaunee Delegation, and (2)He was with Dragging Canoe in 1774. I have not been able to find his Indian name or any more history on him. At some point some of his ancestors did "return" to Maryland as my gggg-grandmother (Sarah (Osborn)Bush was his descendant. She had a son born on 23 Mar. 1768; her death was in May 1818. I believe her parents were John and Mary (Sullivan) Osborn, and her brothers were John Jr,. Joseph, and Daniel Sullivan. I would apprecate any assistance in this.
