Query: I recently entered a query about trying to find information of a Cherokee chief that entered into the reed family. I have spoken to my aunt who informed me that his name was Mathias and he maried into the Senton family which was from England, she was banished from her family and he from his tribe. I'm still searching for more information. He would have been my great great grandfather. My great grandmother was Mae Senton Reed, therefore I was told the wrong info about his last name being Reed. He did however take on the last name Senton. So if anyone can help me please do so. Thanks again, Regina Posted: November, 2006

Query: My Mother-in-law, came to Massachusetts after leaving an orphanage in Oklahoma. Apparently the orphange burnt down she had trouble getting her birth certificate. I know her mom was Cherokee. I believe her dad was of Irish descent. Her mom died in childbirth so her dad placed her in the orphange. I would approximate the fire to have been about 60-70 years ago, but have tried to look into newspaper arhives but cannot find any information. I am hoping to somehow put together my sons lineage, showing Indian/Irish on his dad's side and Irish on mine. If anyone knows anything about an orphanage in Oklahoma that burnt down I would appreciate it if they would contact me. Thanks Posted: November, 2006
