Query: Hello, I am researching my greatgrandmother's Cherokee background. Her name is Myrtle Floyd and she was born in Missouri (right by the NE Oklahoma border) about 1886, possibly a few years later. She later married Duke Gray, also a Missouri native, and they then moved to Ottawa County, OK. Myrtle was supposed to be either full or half Cherokee, and Duke may have had some Cherokee blood as well. However, they are not on the 1907 Dawes Roll, although there are 7 Floyds on that roll, and a lot of Grays as well. One of my relatives told me that Myrtle WAS on some 1900 Cherokee roll, but she forgot the name of it. Does anyone here know of a Cherokee roll taken about 1900? Thanks so much.

Query: Looking for Enos Carroll Land Jr.,or Sr.;Enos Jr.;b:1 Jan.1818 in Tenn-believe to be in Marysville. I spotted his father in Spartanburg,SC in the 1790's census. I am trying to find the native american link in this family. Enos Jr's daughter Martha Jane Land, who is my gg grandmother-I have a picture of her and she looks very much like an indian. I don't think it is coming from her mother's side, but then again it could be. Her mother, Enos Jr's wife's name is Almira Keith the daughter of Jeremiah & Louisa (Doster) Keith. I know that the indian blood is not coming from the Doster line because the descendants from this line have done the research and the Doster's are from Germany. I have no info on Enos Jr's mother which it could be coming from. But I am going with my gut feeling that the indian blood line is coming from the Land side of the family.

Query: Searching for info on Crabtree family (Cherokee) from Marshall County Alabama; John Henry Crabtree (b.1860), Rebecca Jane Crabtree (b.1864), Mary Jane Crabtree(b.1866). Their parents are thought to be a John Crabtree and Emily/Emoline/Emiline (b.1835). Am searching for tribal enrollment data, and their parents' graves, who apparently both died suddenly in Alabama ca. 1872. Kids were split up, but kept in touch and all got together again in Franklin County Ark. and Polk County Ark. in mid-1880s. John Henry Crabtree and wife Nancy, along with Mary Jane Crabtree Scott and husband Thomas Jefferson (Jeff) Scott appear to have moved to Pottawatomie County OK in 1890s and John Henry is said to have operated a large restaurant during the land rush/oil boom days. John Henry and wife Nancy are buried in Wetumka OK, Mary Jane and Thomas Scott in Montague County Texas. Am very interested in finding the smallest bit about this family that tried so hard to stay together, about their parents and where their parents buried, and about Thomas Jefferson Scott, as well as whether the Crabtrees have been seen on the rolls for the Cherokee (or possibly Choctaw) Nation.

Both died in August (unsure of year), at age 35 and 34, respectively, they were born around 1890, and lived in the NC Pisgah Nat. Forest. The incredible story relayed to me is that one of their fathers was a tribal chief, and Charles and another Cherokee invented a steam engine. At the time of the invention, they resided on the reservation, but were forced to leave because of the invention. It is said the government discovered it, and somehow forced them to leave. I also was told they were removed from the Cherokee rosters over this issue. They had three children, Junior Arrowood, Pearl Arrowood Bailey, and Helen Viola Arrowood Bowen (my grandmother, deceased Feb. 2000.)
